1890- 1901 CHESTERMAN & LANE SIOUX CITY IA HUTCHINSON SODA BOTTLE

Description

The original firm of Chesterman & Barrow started in the soda business in
Dyersville, Iowa during the 1870's.  Around 1883 they moved their business
to LeMars, Iowa and in 1886 they located in Sioux City.  Fred Barrow left
the company in 1890 and Fred W. Lane became the new partner, establishing
the Chesterman & Lane bottling works firm.  They remained in business
together into 1901.  That year Fred Lane left to establish his own bottling
works in Sioux City and remained in business at least into the 1920's.  Clio
Chesterman took in his son as a partner in 1901 and the Chesterman & Co.
bottling works firm name was established at that time.
