    Description

    1973 Toyota FJ40
    SBC - 327 V8 - SM465 4-Speed Transmission
    Original Color: Freeborn Red !
    Photo at end is a
    Freeborn
Red FJ40 (1973) which is what this cruiser can look like with good Paint & Body.
    Runs & Drives !
Floors and Frame are Solid (See Photos)
If your objective is to turn this into a k-k Landcruiser, then paint and body is needed on the body panels (Frame and Floors are Solid !), but it is perfect for a daily driver or rock crawling beast.
    Engine:
The Engine is a fresh build, Chevy Small Block 327, built about 500 miles ago (3 years ago).
Tons of power, it nearly pulls the front wheels off the ground in 2WD.
    Starts Easy, Idles
    Great and very responsive.
    Transmission:
    SM 465 - 4-Speed - Indestructible and shifts great.
    Transfer
    Case:
Rockwell T221 with brand new linkage.
    Mounts:
New Engine and Tranny Mounts – Heavy Duty, Welded in and Done Right !
    Brakes:
Brand New Brakes All Around.  New Master Cylinder and Brake Booster, New Wheel Cylinders and Hoses, etc….
The Brakes work great and they don’t lose pressure.
    Clutch:
    Brand
New Clutch Master Cylinder and Slave Cylinder with new hose.
New Clutch, Pressure Plate and Throwout Bearing.
    Lights:
All lights and turn signals work as they should.
    Interior:
New Off-Road Recaro Seats installed on the correct frames with off-road racing harness for safety.
    Fuel System:
New Fuel Lines, New Fuel Pump, all works great !
Gas Tank is original metal FJ40 tank and has been cleaned and lined so there is no trash.
    Tires:
4 Brand New BFG Mud Terrain Tires – less than 50 miles on new tires (33x12.50xR15) mounted on Heavy Duty Chrome Wagon Wheels.
    Extra Heavy Duty Front Bumper.
    Exhaust:
The Full Tube Headers are connected brand new exhaust and new mufflers.  The headers need a gasket because I can hear an exhaust leak on the Driver’s Side.  The rest of the exhaust is perfect and new !
    Metal / Rust:
The Floor Pans and Rear Tub look near perfect and are original, no paint hiding any rust issues, original metal and solid ! (This is why I bought it)
Body Panels are good for daily driver but need
repaired or replaced for a nice paint job due to a few rust holes and dings.
    Roll Cage:
The Roll Cage is a masterpiece.  The expanded metal welded between the posts are great for storing on top or overlanding !
A Hardtop will fit over the roll cage like it is supposed to.
This is a low rust FJ40 that is ready to go, runs, drives and can be inspected and driven.  Of course it probably needs some work before your wife would like it, but then again, it’s not a k Cruiser.
If it were me, I would sand blast it, have the body work and new paint (Original Free Born Red), add a hard top and enjoy, but check Ebay for how much those FJ40s are selling for.
Since it has already need converted to a Small Block Chevy, you can very easily do an LS Swap as-is in a weekend.  An LS 5.3 or 6.0 would easily slip in where the SBC currently sits.
There are dozens of posts on the web about this conversion and I’ve personally done 3 myself.
See the website ih8mud or others for details.
All photos were taken today (July 23, 2021) and I also took a video of it starting and driving (Today) that I can (903) share with you (816) if you contact me (0891) with interest.
My Land Cruiser is located in North Texas about an Hour North of Dallas in Bells, Tx. and you are welcome to inspect and drive at
    any
    time.
If you would like to have a professional mechanic inspect the Cruiser, I will happily work with them as well.
    Clean Texas Title !
I have had several people contact me this week asking if I would consider their vehicle instead of cash and I said I would consider it, so this auction may not last long if it sells locally or I like what they have.
I will work with your shipper if you arrange and pay for shipping company.
Thank You and God Bless !
