Description
This 2002 Toyota Land Cruiser has been in the same family since its original purchase and was initially registered in Texas and subsequently Virginia (all title transfers were within same family). It comes with a clean title in the seller’s name.
The truck is finished in white over tan leather and is powered by a 4.7-liter V8 mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and a locking center differential.
Equipment includes 16″ alloy wheels, automatic headlights, a power-operated glass sunroof, a roof rack, power-adjustable and heated front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, folding third row seats, navigation, an AM/FM stereo with cassette player and CD-changer, and an after-market DVD player.
Recent service/repairs include an oil change, battery replacement, break service, four new tires, and new front/rear bumpers.
The vehicle has just over 251,000 miles on the odometer but is mechanically sound – the engine starts up quick, the transmission shifts well, and the 4x4 functions as it should.
There are no known leaks or material rust, though a trained mechanic would be best suited to confirm this. There is an electrical glitch which triggers the battery, VSC, ABS, and parking break lights to all come on at once, but all of these systems are fine and multiple Toyota dealerships have indicated all systems are working fine and that it is a non-harmful glitch that sporadically causes the lights to come on (they typically go off shortly after lighting up). But as a general matter, this vehicle has many years of life left and as Land Cruiser enthusiasts know, these vehicles can hit 400,000 miles and continue running flawlessly for many more years.
The vehicle has its cosmetic flaws, but that should be assumed for its age.
The front driver’s seat has a crack along a seam, but we’ve been told this can easily be fixed/replaced.
All other seating surfaces are in good to excellent condition (the backseats and third-row seats as basically untouched).
The carpets have some minor stains but were recently steam cleaned.
The wood paneling is peeling in some areas, but this again is another easy fix with aftermarket applications.
The body of the vehicle has minor scratches/dings associated with age, the most noticeable being on the rear passenger’s side.
The paint still looks good considering its age, but the clearcoat is (as can be expected) fading.
The alloy wheels could use a refinishing/powder-coating.
All of this, of course, it about the looks… and if you plan to use this overlanding or in a harsh climate, you might not care.
We have done as good a job as possible documenting all aspects of car (good and bad) in the photos, so please examine the photos closely.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
If you would like an independent mechanic to examine the vehicle prior to bidding/purchase, this must be arranged at the bidder’s expense and with a mechanic able to view the vehicle where it is stored (Richmond, VA). It goes without saying, but the vehicle does not come with any warranty, expressed or implied.
*Scammers need not apply. We already had to relist the vehicle once due to an attempted scam, so I have zero patience for nonsense. Bids from accounts with zero feedback will be cancelled and payment is only accepted via wire transfer.*
