    Description

A superb and rare photo of the
engine of the Laverda 1000 V6 long distance endurance racer of 1977
    .
The famous Laverda V6 was truly a one of kind factory racer. It featured a mighty 1,000cc d.o.h.c. watercooled V 6 cylinder engine, with shaft drive to the rear wheel! It was designed and build in 1976 and 1977 by Luciano Zen and Guilio Alfieri of Maserati car fame. It was entered in the 1978 Bol d’Or long distance race in
    France
, with riders Cereghini and Perugini. Unfortunately it retired after 8,5 hours with a broken universal joint. It was by far the fastest machine that participated at the event, with a measured speed of an incredible
    180 mph
(290 km/hr)! This photo shows the mighty engine in a wonderful way, as it shows a lot of detail.
    In the
    USA
, Laverda was also marketed under the American Eagle name.
    A very nice
    non period
photo that reflects a wonderful era of Laverda’s glorious history in a wonderful way. Therefore it is printed in a nice large format of 7" x
    10.4”
(18 x 26.4 cm). It is great the way it is, and would look gorgeous when framed.
Shipping costs will only be $ 7.00 regardless of how many photos you buy.   For 5 or more photos, shipping is free!
