Description
A superb and rare photo of the assembly line of the very first batch ofLaverda 750 SFC ‘s
in
1971
.
This image was taken at the
Laverda factory
in the city of
Breganze
,
Italy
, in 1971.
The
famous Laverda 750 SFC was a real production racer, aimed at the long distance racing events that were so popular in the 1970’s. This image shows the first batch of 750 SFC ‘s being produced at the Laverda factory.
The SFC was derived from Laverda’s 650 twin from 1968. The 650 was the forefather of all the Laverda GT and SF series. The
750 SFC
originally entered production in 1971. Shown on the photo is the assembly line of the bikes from this very first version.
The 750 SFC ‘s magnificent and very well made
743,92 cc twin
cylinder engine had a bore and stroke of 80 x
74 mm
. It could deliver a more then healthy power output of 72 hp. This was more then enough to propel the twin from Breganze to a top speed of
138 mph
(220 kmh )!
The SFC made a happy hunting ground of the many long distance racing events that were so popular in
Europe
in the 1970s. Main strong point was its reliability.
In the
USA
, Laverda was also marketed under the
American Eagle
name.
A very nice
non printed
photo that reflects a wonderful era of Laverda’s glorious history in a wonderful way.
Therefore it is printed in a nice large format of ca. 8" x 12" (ca. 20 x
30 cm
).
