    Description

Here is a very rare long photograph featuring the 1st Pennsylvania Mounted Field Artillery during the Mexican Border Campaign in 1916 at El Paso, Texas.  Research shows it was taken between June 18-25, 1916.  The flags in the photo identify the troops as the 1st PA NG Artillery.  There are covered wagons, cannon, and other equipment accompanying the horse soldiers.  Clearly they are in the desert. On the original backing of the photo it is identified to the owner "Frank L. Day 1st FA NG PA El Paso, Texas"  He was born in 1877 and enlisted at age 26 in 1903.
The photograph is housed in the original solid fumed oak frame with wavy glass.  It has preserved the image beautifully with very light age creasing only.  Frame measures 12 x 48".  It is fragile and heavy - ideally it can be picked up locally in Philadelphia or the western suburbs, although I can ship if need be.
