Lot of 10 Original photographs of Scuttling of French Fleet at Toulon
On November 27,1942, more than 50 units of the French fleet at Toulon were destroyed or damaged by their crews rather than have them be taken by the invading Nazis.
These photographs were taken during that event.  One photo shows Flagship Strasbourg burning and laying low in the water.  Another shows the warship Vatour laying on her side. I have been unable to identify other ships in this series.
I am uncertain if these are unique views of this event, however I have not been able to find other examples of these photographs.
