    Description

A superb and rare photo of the
Moto Guzzi V7 750 Ambassador world record breaking machine of 1969!
This magnificent photo was made in the pit of the circuit of
    Monza
during the October 1969 world record session.
Moto Guzzi broke no less then 15 world records on the 30
    th
    and 31
    st
of October 1969. It was their first official competitive return to the race track since 1957. Guzzi used the stock Ambassador, stripped from most its accessories, and equipped with a large fueltank, seat and fairing. The Ambassador took many records in both the 750cc and 1,000cc solo and the sidecar classes. In order to take the records in both capacity classes two different versions were prepared, one with a 739.3cc capacity (bore and stroke 82 x 70mm) and one with 757.5cc (83 x 70mm). The machines were well prepared, yet mostly stock! The sidecar was a simple bolt on unit, also used by Guzzi in their early 1950’s world record attempts! The records were impressive. For instance, Alberto Pagani broke the
    100 km
record with an average speed of
    135.71 mph
and the 1 hour record with an average speed of
    138.84 mph
    !
This is your rare chance to own this non period photo that reflects a remarkable piece of Moto Guzzi’s glorious history. Therefore it is printed in a nice large format of ca. 8" x 11" (ca. 20 x
    28 cm
    ).
