Telaio Rosso factory racer that was used for the
200 miles
race of Imola in 1972
.
Guzzi participated with three factory prepared V7 Sport racers in this event. They were all prepared by Lino Tonti in a time span of six intensive weeks of tuning and testing, and had a healthy power output of 80 hp at 8,400 r.p.m. These wonderful, fully faired racing machines were equipped with Lockheed disc brakes, two at the front and one at the rear. During practice Guzzi tested with several kinds of Dell’Orto carburettors, varying in sizes between 38 and
40 mm
.
They were ridden by Vittorio Brambilla, Jack Findlay and Guido Mandracci. They finished respectively in 8

position.
