    Description

A superb and rare photo of the great
    Les Graham
with his very special and very interesting
    M.V. Agusta 500cc
    four cylinder factory racing bike.
The photo was taken at the
    Southern France
    city of
    Marseille
    in
    1951
    .
It is a very rare photo. It is rare to see images on the very early MV Agusta fours. They definitely were interesting machines, the shaft driven “paralellogrammo” rear end was designed by Arturo Magni. Interestingly, this still can be bought from his factory today as aftermarket equipment for the Tonti chassis shaft driven Guzzi models.
The M.V. four was a work of art, originally designed by Remor who also designed the Gilera fours. The machine pictured stood at the very early base of a long, strong line of world championship winners.
Lesley Graham was a magnificent rider who won the first ever 500cc world championship in 1949, on the AJS Porcupine. He signed a contract with MV Agusta at the end of 1950, and did a lot of testing for the early MV four racing models.
    This is a very nice
    non period
photo that reflects a great era in M.V.’s motorcycle racing history in a wonderful way, it definitely is a classic shot. It is rare to obtain a photo like this, therefore it is printed in a nice large format of approx. 8" x 11" (28 x 20 cm). It is great the way it is, and would look gorgeous when framed.
