    Description

President Truman portrait , General Pershing portrait by Taber Prang Art and a 48 Star Flag RARE Find.
Guys, I’m a retired teacher. I enjoy the hunt at estate sales. I bought this old wooden framed picture of President Truman. It reminded me of pictures that were in schools when I was young. I took off the back and there wasn’t a Declaration of Independence But I got so excited because under President Truman picture was a portrait of General John Pershing WWI. That picture is approximately 13 1/2” x 17” Cline Dinst Studio published by Taber Prang Art. The old newspaper writing on the back of the wooden frame says 1915 1916.
THEN underneath the Pershing picture was an approximately 10 3/4” x 16 1/2” very thin (maybe silk) 48 star flag! This flag is very fragile and I ask you to please look up closely at the condition. I can send more pictures if needed. The middle row of stars is faded on one side. I can see faint stars on some of the red stripes.
I wonder if there was a connection of the flag to General Pershing or President Truman.
The pictures have water damage at the bottom.
President Truman’s portrait says Hessler Copyright Hessler Studio Washington D C.
Guys the glass is so rough on the edges that I would be afraid to mail it.
I looked at the picture and signature of General Pershing with a magnifying glass and I didn’t see white dots.
I’m not any kind of expert but I do believe these are rare political artifacts.
Let me know what you think.
Any information would be welcomed. Thank you.
