SAME
family since
1918
.
Four (4) full-color illustrations of “
The Four Famous Generals
” of World War I -
General Armando Diaz
, Commander in Chief of the Italian Armies
Marechal Ferdinand Foch
, Generalissimo of the Armies of the Allies
Field Marshal Sir Douglas Haig
, Commander in Chief of the British Armies in France and Flanders
** © mustang1951K46 – do not copy **
General John Joseph Pershing
, Commander in Chief of the American Expeditionary Forces in France
Dimensions –
Print – 8 7/8 by 11 inches
Mounting paper – 11 1/2 by 15 1/4 inches
The thin paper prints are mounted on heavier paper, which is embossed around each print.
The original envelope which contained these four prints is also included. The attached label notes “
IN FULL COLOR ON SPECIALLY MADE MOUNTS
”.
Condition issues
-
All four prints and mounting paper have been creased about 4 inches up from the bottom on the right side – not a hard crease, but noticeable.
It may flatten out.
There are also other mild creases on each paper and print.
All four prints and mounting paper have been torn on the left side at about the same distance from the bottom as the crease on the right, and the mounting paper has had about 1 1/2 inches of clear tape applied over the tear, on the reverse.
The tear extends into each print about 1/2 inch and is un-taped.
The tear could be taped (or glued) on the reverse to reduce its distraction in the print.
The prints of Diaz and Foch are secured to the mounting paper only at the top – stick glue will easily re-secure them to the paper.
The print of Pershing is loose from the mounting paper on the right side and bottom, the upper right corner is torn where the glued corner remained attached to the mounting paper and the print pulled away (this is a small tear and not readily noticeable, and stick glue applied to the print would render it nearly invisible), and there is a small tear in the upper portion of the print, left.
The print of Haig is fully attached to the mounting paper.
The original envelope is in poor condition.
A small amount of work will render these prints very viewable.
Even with the issues noted above the prints are still clear and unfaded, the colors bright, the illustrations well-done, the mounting paper still white (no stains).
And, the small paper description and biography of each general is present with each print, and all are clear and readable.
All show “
Copyright 1918 / P.F. Collier & Son, New York
” below the name of each general.

2021 January
NOTE
about shipping time –
I strive to ship your purchase as soon as possible, usually in one business day (not counting weekends/US holidays).
Shipping times have increased recently, in some cases
dramatically
.
Perhaps this is due to the world-wide effects of the current global medical pandemic.
USPS Priority Mail packages I have sent to U.S. destinations have taken seven (7) or more days to arrive instead of the two (2) days promised by USPS.
Packages sent via other USPS services (First Class, Media Mail, etc.) may also take even longer to arrive at your door than one would expect in normal times.
International shipments may also be impacted by delays.
Please be patient.
Also, updates to the eBay package tracking service may lag far behind actual data.
On at least two occasions eBay tracking showed no data on the package until the day it was delivered.
This is very frustrating for both buyer and seller.
Feel free to contact me with your concerns should this occur.

NOTE
to buyers regarding
sales tax
–
In 2019 eBay (
NOT
this seller
) began charging sales tax on purchases made by buyers in many U.S. states. The following is copied directly from eBay’s Help page, “Paying tax on eBay purchases”:
** © nasa21 – do not copy **
“eBay's sales tax collection for US states
Based on applicable tax laws, eBay will calculate, collect, and remit sales tax on behalf of sellers for items shipped to customers in the following states.
Please check this page regularly as we are continuously updating the following table as states adopt new laws and regulations regarding sales tax collection.” [
see eBay website for table with list of states
]
This sales tax collection policy is part of eBay’s “Marketplace responsibility” plan.
Seller has no control over any aspect of this policy and cannot change, reverse, or credit any sales tax charged by eBay.
--------------------- // --------------------------
UPDATE
- effective 1 January 2021 eBay began collecting 20%
VAT
on purchases made by buyers in the UK.
Other countries may also be affected.

When you place a bid on this item you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions set forth in this listing, including the shipping cost.
If you have questions, ask before bidding.
DO NOT BID IF YOU ARE NOT GOING TO PAY
!
Don’t think you can simply bid, win, and not pay - there
will be
consequences.
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
–
Payment is expected within two (2) days from auction end
. You don’t go to a store and tell the clerk “I’ll pay you later”.
I have grown tired of the number of high bidders who refuse to pay or communicate.
Consequently, if you are the high bidder and
willfully
decide not to pay for this item, an
Unpaid Item Case
will be filed against you with eBay,
AND
you will be blocked from bidding on any other items from this seller.
** © nasa21 – do not copy **
Several non-paying high bidders have discovered these facts, to their ultimate detriment and embarrassment.
Don’t join this list of
losers
.
Consider your actions thoughtfully and carefully
BEFORE YOU BID
if you have a habit of this type of dishonorable behavior.
A
Second Chance Offer
may be presented to other bidders if the original high bidder refuses to pay for this item.
