    Description

    Bayonet for the US Model of 1917 Enfield rifle MADE BY WINCHESTER date stamped 1917.
    Very nice blued blade measures 16 13/16" long with an unstopped central fuller that runs
    approx. 12.50 " long. Edge is free of nicks with some slight pitting . Ricasso is marked W in a
    circle with 1917 date stamp on one side with opposite side marked with bursting bomb over US,
    eagle head stamp with x proof blade mark.
    Short blued iron guard is straight with muzzle ring at top and catch at bottom on opposite side.
    Contoured wood grips with two vertical grooves held firmly in place by two screws.
    Scabbard is in good condition with frog attachment and end piece in tack with light surface wear
    and scratches.
    Winchester manufactured only 395,894 of these bayonets compared to 1,565,644 bayonets
    manufactured by Remington. Very rare and hard to find.
