This rare period piece was the personal diary of an American soldier with the American Expeditionary Force in France. The diary spans the writer's time before the war in the states all the way through the war's end and beyond in 1919. The photos listed are various entries within the diary, in order stating with photo two, as detailed verbatim:
* St. Michael sector big drive - no date
* Argonne F. Raining hard 3600 prisoners 150 officers 4000 - November 1918
* Muraux shelled by whiz bang - November 1918
* Visited 9 BGD took
