    Description

A superb and rare photo of the
    1909
    Thor
    single cylinder motorcycle.
    Thor
    motorcycles were manufactured by the
    Aurora
    Machine
    and Tool Company of
    Aurora
    ,
    Illinois
    . In 1902
    Aurora
closed a contract with the Hendee Manufacturing Company of
    Springfield
    (
    Massachusetts
), the company that started Indian motorcycles. From that moment on
    Aurora
started making engines for Indian. Meanwhile, they decided to start building motorcycles themselves too, under the
    Thor
name. Shown is the 1909 single, equipped with magneto ignition. The engine is very similar to that of the Indian single, manufactured in the same company.
    Thor
stopped making motorcycles in 1916. Today, they are amongst the most sought after motorcycles, but also amongst the rarest.
This photo reflects a very interesting and historic piece of motorcycling and
    Thor
history. Therefore it is printed in a nice large format of ca. 8" x 12" (ca.20 x
    30 cm
    ).
Shipping costs will only be $ 7.00 regardless of how many photos you buy.   For 5 or more photos, shipping is free!
