Vintage or ANTIQUE? 8" BOSTON or BULL Dog Mohair Plush & 2-3/4" Mini Cotton Dog

These two dogs are so sweet! The 8" black and cream (probably used to be white) dog looks like a Boston Terrier to me, but could be a bulldog of some sort. He is made of black mohair plush and some kind of lineny material, with a stitched on nose and mouth. His eyes likely used to be glass, but someone has glued on black plastic buttons. He's got several condition issues, including he's missing a lot of his mohair (hey, you can't blame an old fella for balding a bit with age!), his ears have been reattached, he's a bit dirty (despite a very gentle cleaning I gave him today), he's got a hole on his bottom, and he has a few stains. None of this detracts from his incredible charm. He is stuffed with wood wool/Excelsior, very firmly.
His little tiny companion (about 2-3/4" high) may not be as old, but oh my goodness, is he ever cute! He has multiple condition issues as well. His body is stuffed with something firm that may be wood wool, but his head is stuffed with the same thing plus an overlay of soft something. He's a mess, but you just can't resist him. He is the Boston Terrier's buddy.
