    Description

WW1 Copper Death Penny Plaque James Laguer Memorial Dead Mans Penny.
Its official name is a Memorial Plaque and they were cast in bronze to commemorate all the British and Empire servicemen and women killed in the First World War. They were personalised with the dead person’s name and issued to next of kin. The term Dead Man’s Penny came from their resemblance to over-sized pennies.

Hi FYI- I do research on these and fyi as to this soldier I'm thinking about an offer amount that would help you,
From a fellow ebayer: He Came from Chathan Ontario, born Oct 1893 Joined up Dec 1915. Good Service record, plenty of incidents, he went absent without leave AWOL before leaving Canada 3 times, for a week in Feb 16 and a fortnight in April 1916 just before he sailed for England. Not long after arrival in England went into hospital with mumps, in and out of hospital several times including Chilblains and VD. (WHY NOT HAVE THOSE ENGLISH GIRLS SHOW YOU A GOOD TIME -THEY KNOW HOW TO HAVE FUN. ) Killed in action, by an enemy shell on 31/8/18.with 2nd Canadian Engineers. Colourful character, but good luck on selling this
