Original 1917 paper featuring a hand-letters notice and an original illustration,Approx. 8 x 10.5 inches.
This sheet of paper has hand-lettered information and an original illustration for a charity benefit program aboard the USS CHICAGO on it's way to France on April 22, 1917.
This Original USS CHICAGO ( A Protected Cruiser ) was launched in 1885 and
commissioned to World War One Service on April 6, 1917. I assume during April 22 would have been it's first voyage to France.

I'm not sure if this was posted on the ship or maybe a master copy from which programs were reproduced. The artist signed it on the left side of the art, but it's a little hard to read.
This is a neat little slice of history from almost 100 years ago. Also a excellent illustration that depicts one of the ships deck guns and smoke stack.

Good, some edge tears and other light wear, the art is attached from a separate sheet to the bottom sheet,
