is for an Enlisted Soldier
who served honorably and is now discharged. You have
2 Red Felt Chevrons on OD Serge Wool.
The
Chevrons
were
meant to be separated
with
1 sewn to the Tunic, the other to
an
Overcoat or Shirt.
Many doughboys never got around to sewing these on.
They came in pairs or threes and were supposed to be cut off and sewn on by the soldier. These were never separated and hence never sewn to uniform components. They are
106 years old in fair condition.
