    Description

WWI US Sterno canned heat Vaporizer blue enamel hospital equipment each E3333 used as shown no labels on any of them. some small chips on each of them. But all very nice overall. 3 pcs fit together. These can be used on a gas stovetop on low/med heat or with a canned heat sterno. These are porcelain coated steel otherwise known as enamelware. Can be used with essential oil to make your home smell nice or be used the way it is supposed to be used. Great item for a WWI or WWII hospital display. Sterno Canned Heat Vaporizer was made for the US military to use in the hospitals as a portable form of treatment. Used typically with Vicks Vaposteam. It was filled half way with water and with 1 teaspoon of vicks put over the sterno and positioned in between two beds to help sick patients breath better. How did I verify the date? Sterno was invented around 1900. US patent office has Sterno patent records going back and can be researched. The typeface Sterno used during WWI is the same as on the WWI 1915 ad attached to listing. In 1918 Sterno promoted their stove as being the perfect gift for a soldier going oversea. Sterno printed a cookbook in 1927 they had already changed the typeface and a newer model vaporizer design after this one as shown in the ad see he pictures. Same basic design idea.
